Halushki (Milk Dumplings)


  • 6 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar, or to taste
  • 2 tsp butter



  1. Bring the milk to a boil.
  2. In a big bowl, mix the eggs and flour, making a dough. Right in the bowl, nip off small pieces of dough. Mix with the remaining flour.
  3. Transfer dough pieces into the boiling milk. Stirring, bring to a boil again. Reduce heat, simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Add the sugar and butter.
  5. Serve hot for breakfast or lunch. Enjoy!
