One way to make your mashed potato more delicious is to add fried onion in it. I’ve learned this recipe from my beloved grandmother who was an amazing cook.
Cook your potato in a regular way, salt to taste. Drain water.
Use as much butter as you usually add to your mashed potato. Melt it on a skillet.
Depend of how small or large portion of potato you choose, take 1/4 to 1/2 medium to large onion, cut in quarter circles and fry in butter on high heat until golden.
If you like, put the fried onion on top of potato.
