Strawberry with Sour Cream Dessert

This recipe was made by my grandmother who is still with us at age of 90.  She was an amazing cook although she never used a recipe book!

She cooked her food in a unique way and it was always SUPER DELICIOUS!

One of those never written in a cookbook recipes is still my favorite dessert – mashed strawberry with sugar and sour cream.

It is very simple and easy to prepare and full of vitamins (of course, if choosing organic ingredients).



  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp full sour cream

Note: You can modify the amount of sugar and sour cream to your personal taste preferences


  1. Wash strawberries, remove green stems/leaves.
  2. Mash using a potato masher (the kind with holes) 
  3. Mix with sugar and sour cream.
  4. Serve alone or with sweet rolls or even with pancakes (it’s really good  too).



Note: I do not use a blender for this recipe; the texture would be different which may affect the taste.
